Spring Color Report ’17

A little creature saw his shadow and predicted that there will be 6 more weeks until spring! So, we can officially let the countdown begin and start to prepare our closets for one of my favorite seasons of the year! Before I can properly spring clean my closet and fill it with light cardigans, denim vests, flirty maxi dresses, off the shoulder tops, and floral skirts – let’s talk about color! The top 10 colors for this spring season are reminiscent of the hues that surround us in the great outdoors – the color story is all about relaxation, nature, and with a splash of vitality.dgsgAs per Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling. From the warmth of sunny days with PANTONE 13-0755 Primrose Yellow to the invigorating feeling of breathing fresh mountain air with PANTONE 18-0107 Kale and the desire to escape to pristine waters with PANTONE 14-4620 Island Paradise, designers applied color in playful, yet thoughtful and precise combinations to fully capture the promises, hope and transformation that we yearn for each Spring.” I don’t know about you, but based on that synopsis – I’m a little excited! Especially to find pieces that are in Primrose Yellow, Hazelnut, Kale, and Island Paradise.

While all these colors would add a little boost to your closet; there is a front runner in this top ten selection. The official color for spring is Niagara, a denim-like blue for ease and relaxation. This color is light and breezy – can be easily mixed in with your everyday pieces.

NIAGRA mmRunner-up? My favorite, the joyful yellow shade that invites warmth and good cheer to brighten up our closets, Primrose Yellow. Radiant, yet subtle this color will add ambiance to any outfit this spring!

What hues will you be rocking this spring?
