The Art of Color Blocking

Color blocking is a trend that originated from the artwork of famous Dutch painter, Piet Mondrian. It should come as no surprise that fashion designers draw inspiration from famous artists such as Andy Warhol, right down to a can of paint (Pantone color of the year) to create beautiful clothing and accessories. This season’s color blocking trend comes from taking colors that are opposites on the color wheel and combining them together, with some form of separation. Another way to rock this trend if you’re not into the infusing bold color blocking pieces into your wardrobe is by doing a black and white combination. It is very simple to rock this trend, you probably already have pieces in your closet. Grab a fitted camisole or tee (any color) and tuck in a skirt of a different color combination (as seen on me) and there you have it! Want to see other ways to rock this trend? See below:
